Sinopsis: 1942, un barco inglés se adentra en un banco de niebla y pierde la pista de su convoy. A bordo, un hombre alemán se encuentra a partes iguales asustado por la posibilidad de que un submarino venga y les hunda, y confundido por el hecho de no recordar cómo llegó a ese barco y no recordar apenas más que unos pocos datos sobre quién es él.

Closing Narration: The S.S. Queen of Glasgow, heading for New York, and the time is 1942. For one man, it is always 1942, and this man will ride the ghost of that ship every night for eternity. This is what is meant by paying the fiddler. This is the comeuppance awaiting every man when the ledger of his life is opened and examined, the tally made, and then the reward or the penalty paid. And in the case of Carl Lanser, former Kapitan Leutnant, Navy of the Third Reich, this is the penalty. This is the justice meted out. This is judgment night in the Twilight Zone.


Curiosidades:

- Nehemiah Persoff interpreta a un alemán cuando, irónicamente, tiene raices Israelíes.

- En este episodio los ingleses beben café en vez de té porque el patrocinador era General Foods (una marca de café).

- Los decorados utilizados fueron los que se construyeron para el film Misterio en el Barco Perdido.

Creo que la idea está bien, pero la manera de contarla, no.

Muy forzado, y con cosas que no se entienden. Demasiado intento de moraleja, otra vez.

Me pone nervioso seguir la perspectiva de un personaje que anda tan perdido y actúa de forma tan extraña.
Eso sí, el final tiene una moraleja bastante equilibrada, que lo arregla en gran parte.
