Carlo and Elisa appear to have it all. He is a university professor and novelist struggling with writer’s block; she is a sharp, accomplished journalist whose editorials are published around the world. Living in Rome, their life drifts between success and routine, intimacy and a sense of quiet erosion. Hoping for renewal, they travel to Morocco with their longtime friends Anna and Paolo, along with their thirteen-year-old daughter Vittoria—bright, inquisitive, and a little unusual. Before long, underlying tensions begin to surface.
