Una gala muy sobria la de este año, vestuario negro en casi la totalidad de los asistentes, para reflejar el rechazo a la guerra. Destacar tres cosas, el triunfo de Chicago, la derrota total de Gangs of New York y el éxito de Pedro Almodovar que por segunda vez conquista Holliwood.
